Quality Therapeutic Massage Therapy Treatment
Michelle Roberts, Registered Massage Therapist, is a 2017 graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and a certified Moksha Yoga Teacher. On August 22, 2017 she opened her practise Crescent Moon Wellness in the core of downtown Galt. Her approach to treamtent is always client focused; what does the client want, and what treatment would they most benefit from? Michelle prides herself in superb client care, individualizing the experience for every person who comes through her door and offers a disarming demeanor. She stays in touch with her clients via email post-treatment to let them know that their experience goes beyond their time on the treatment table. Her scope of practise as a registered massage therapist includes a wide range of both soft tissue (muscular) and skeletal concerns; find a surprising list of conditions on Can Massage Help.
Behind the Name
Michelle returned from Moksha yoga teacher training inspired by the Moksha practise of which Crescent Moon is the third pose. The pose is fuelled by breath to create opening through the side body with interlaced palms. By complete coincidence, her husband had suggested the name Crescent Moon. Her best friend suggested dedicating the name to Michelle’s deceased mother, who was very passionate about holistic health and wellness. Rather fittingly, The first two letters of Crescent are the initials of her mother (Carole Roberts); S is her husband’s first initial (Scott); T is her sister’s first initial (Tanya). Crescent Moon is the embodiment of connnecting hands to breath.
Crescent Moon Wellness serves residents of the Cambridge area and is located in East Galt.
Michelle Roberts, Registered Massage Therapist
At heart, Michelle is a fitness geek and has tailored her interest in the human body to her career. Michelle was raised in Toronto and graduated from Ryerson University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion, and spent the subsequent few years developing athletic apparel. Early 2016, Michelle moved to Cambridge and started school at the Canadian College of Massage Therapy. During school, she worked part time at Moksha Yoga Cambridge as a Studio Coordinator (read: front desk, gave you a big smile when you walked in to the studio). She graduated in May 2017 and obtained her licsense as a Registered Massage Therapist July 2017. This wasn't enough education, so in July 2017 Michelle spent the month in Kelowna, BC to complete her Moksha Modo Yoga Teacher Training. Though her career has seen transition, she maintains a shared interest in health and wellness.
Michelle is extremely passionate about her clients; she takes time to review and throughly listen to their needs prior to treatment, checks in to make sure she's meeting the client's needs, and provides individualized homecare exercises and stretches for the client between treatments. Michelle strives to stay on top of the ever changing healthcare industry and is passionate about lifelong learning.
When she's not treating clients, Michelle can be found with her dog George, reading anatomy books, taking class at Moksha, or exploring beautiful Ontario with her husband Scott.
